We're seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and engaging Nutritionist / Group Facilitator to join our clinical services team on a per diem basis. This is a unique opportunity to combine your expertise in nutrition and wellness with meaningful, people-centered work that makes a difference.

Your Role: Educate, Engage & Inspire

As our Nutritionist / Group Facilitator , you'll lead nutrition-focused psychoeducational groups for adults participating in substance use disorder treatment.

Your mission is to make nutrition understandable, approachable, and actionable. You'll help clients explore how food, hydration, and everyday wellness habits influence their energy, mood, physical health, and recovery.

Through interactive discussions, practical examples, and supportive education, you'll create a welcoming learning environment where clients feel comfortable asking questions, sharing experiences, and discovering healthier ways to care for themselves.

What You'll Be Doing

Lead Dynamic, Engaging Groups

• Facilitate interactive nutrition, wellness, and health-focused educational groups.

• Create an encouraging and respectful atmosphere that promotes participation and learning.

• Adapt your presentation style to accommodate different backgrounds, learning preferences, and individual needs.

• Develop creative group activities, discussion topics, handouts, and educational resources.

Make Nutrition Practical & Relevant

• Educate clients on the connection between nutrition, substance use, recovery, and overall wellness.

• Introduce practical strategies for balanced meals, hydration, grocery shopping, and everyday food choices.

• Help participants understand how nutrition may influence energy, sleep, mood, and physical well-being.

• Encourage realistic, sustainable wellness goals that clients can incorporate into daily life.

Collaborate With a Team That Cares

• Partner with counselors, therapists, nurses, medical providers, and other clinical team members.

• Share relevant observations and communicate client concerns to appropriate clinical professionals.

• Maintain a professional, supportive, and recovery-focused group environment.

• Participate in relevant team meetings, trainings, and program activities.

Maintain Quality & Professional Standards

• Complete timely and accurate group documentation, including attendance, educational objectives, and topics covered.

• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and protect client confidentiality.

• Follow Milestone policies and applicable HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and other confidentiality requirements.

• Recognize and promptly communicate safety, medical, or clinical concerns to the appropriate team members.

• Ensure all educational activities remain within your professional qualifications and scope of practice.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of nutrition, health, and wellness principles.

• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and educate groups.

• A personable, compassionate, and professional approach to working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate, timely documentation.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary clinical team.

• Sound professional judgment, appropriate boundaries, and a commitment to confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential or another applicable nutrition credential.

• Experience providing nutrition education in healthcare, behavioral health, addiction treatment, mental health, or human services.

• Previous experience facilitating groups, workshops, classes, or educational programs.

• Familiarity with the nutritional challenges associated with substance use and early recovery.

• Experience working with adults navigating substance use disorders.

Important Scope of Practice Note: This position is primarily educational and group-focused. It does not independently involve substance use disorder counseling, psychotherapy, clinical diagnosis, or treatment planning unless the individual holds the separate professional credentials and authorization required to provide those services. All group content and responsibilities must remain within the facilitator's qualifications and authorized professional scope.
