Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

We are seeking a neurodiversity-affirming, child‑led speech-language pathologist with competencies in working with children and families to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in pediatric speech-language pathology, specific expertise in gestalt language processing and natural language acquisition, and skilled experience in oral motor development and treatment, alongside a genuine commitment to the wellbeing of neurodivergent children, children who have experienced trauma, and LGBTQ+ children and their families. At Dandelion Spirit, speech-language pathology is not a separate service that happens down the hall - it is an integrated part of how we understand and support the whole child. You will work alongside mental health clinicians and occupational therapists to ensure that communication, language, and feeding/oral motor needs are understood in the context of the full clinical picture, and that the support we offer families is coherent rather than fragmented. As an SLP at Dandelion Spirit, you will work with children and families to identify functional communication and oral motor support needs, design and implement intervention plans that honor natural language development (including gestalt language processing) across home, school, and community settings, and collaborate closely with the broader clinical team to ensure that your work and theirs are building toward the same goals. Duties Conduct comprehensive speech-language and oral motor evaluations to assess receptive/expressive language, pragmatics, gestalt language development, and oral motor/feeding function Develop individualized treatment plans grounded in client strengths and family priorities Provide direct speech-language services to children using evidence-based, neurodiversity-affirming approaches, including gestalt language processing frameworks Support oral motor development and treatment, including feeding-related concerns where relevant Collaborate with mental health clinicians and OT on co-treatment and coordinated care planning Partner with families to support carryover of strategies across home and school environments Consult with schools and other providers to support environmental modifications and appropriate accommodations Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with legal, ethical, and billing standards Engage in regular interdisciplinary team consultation and contribute to a shared clinical culture Qualifications Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology AND current licensure as an SLP in the state of Minnesota, or eligibility for licensure (CFs welcome to apply) Experience working with pediatric populations, particularly children ages 2-12 Specific training or experience in gestalt language processing and natural language acquisition or willingness to engage in such training Experience or training in oral motor assessment and treatment Experience with or genuine commitment to learning neurodiversity-affirming practice, including presuming competence and honoring all forms of communication Familiarity with trauma-informed care and its application to speech-language pathology Experience working with or willingness to learn about neurodivergent children, including autistic children, children with ADHD, and children with PDA profiles Comfort working within a multidisciplinary team and contributing to coordinated, relationship-based care Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with children and families from diverse backgrounds Strong documentation skills with attention to detail Paid time off Funds toward continuing education annually Short-term disability Paid Family and Medical Leave Health Insurance Stipend Retirement Account Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year (estimated) #J-18808-Ljbffr Dandelionspiritpsych
