For a limited time MaineHealth is offering sign on bonuses for Medical Assistants:

• 0-1 years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time)
• 1+ years of experience eligible for $5,000 (full time)

• Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time MA position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
• Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

This is a fast-paced, close-knit pediatric practice with four providers where Medical Assistants are paired one-to-one with a provider, allowing you to build meaningful relationships with patients and families over time. The team truly enjoys working together and takes pride in creating a positive, supportive environment focused on excellent patient care. This primarily clinical role offers 38 hours per week on a flexible schedule (currently 7:30am-5:00pm with Thursdays off). When fully staffed, MAs also enjoy one dedicated administrative "pit boss" day per week for follow-up, calls, and paperwork. The ideal candidate is a strong team player who is self-motivated, enjoys a quick pace, and values supporting their peers.


Summary:
The Medical Assistant (MA) role is assigned duties and responsibilities related to patient care and administrative support in a team-based environment while promoting a smooth flow of patients through the office. The Medical Assistant MA role functions under the license of the physician/advanced practice practitioner when performing clinical and other patient care responsibilities.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).
2. License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or NREMT certification preferred or achieved within one year of eligibility. (Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement) Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.
3. Experience: One year of experience as a Medical Assistant (without certification) or as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant; or 6 months of experience as a certified Medical Assistant.
