DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position supports the upkeep of buildings, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe and functional environment for residents and staff. The role requires skill in multiple trades and a strong commitment to quality work. As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties: Carpentry Work: Repair doors, furniture, and structural items, and operate power tools for assigned tasks Electrical Tasks: Install circuits, repair fixtures, and maintain motors and lighting systems Plumbing Repairs: Install and repair plumbing fixtures, clear drains, and maintain water and steam lines HVAC Maintenance: Service heating and cooling units, repair steam equipment, and maintain refrigeration systems Groundskeeping: Maintain lawn areas, remove debris, and perform seasonal tasks including snow removal Safety Practices: Follow safety rules, report hazards, and use personal protective equipment WORK SCHEDULE AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Full-time employment. 7.5 hours/day, 37.5 hours/week Work hours are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch and work every other weekend. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $41,506.00 (before taxes). REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: You must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT: You must be able to perform essential job functions. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NOT REQUIRED): Experience in commercial carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC trades Experience in commercial and structural maintenance of buildings and equipment Experience working with 3-phase wiring to include emergency generators, Automatic Transfer Switches, switch gears, and 3-phase panels Experience working domestic hot water mixing valves, recirculating loops, aqua stats, and instantaneous water heaters Experience with the provisions of Life Safety Codes and Uniform Construction Code (UCC) as they relate to repair of buildings Experience in the maintenance and repair of buildings at a long-term care facility LEGAL REQUIREMENTS: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
