Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients recovering from anesthesia after surgical procedures. Your expertise in critical care will be vital in ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Unit Information
- Number of Beds: 19 Main PACU, 4 Beds in Atrium PACU
- Number of Staff: 13 Full-Time Employees
- Patient Ratios:
- 2:1 for stable patients
- 1:1 for unstable ICU patients
- 1:1 for pediatric patients
- Type of Equipment: Ventilators, Philips and GE monitors, Sigma Spectrum pumps
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech
Schedule Information
Shifts include a waterfall schedule with day shifts starting at various times throughout the morning. Night shift includes on-call responsibilities after designated hours. Weekend call rotates among staff.
Qualifications
Required Skills
- Experience in PACU or ICU settings
- Strong neuro background
- Ventilator competency
Preferred Skills
- Experience with drip titration
- Background in neurosurgery
Essential Responsibilities
- Set up Patient-Controlled Analgesia (PCA) pump
- Conduct drip titration
- Perform arterial line blood draws
Ideal Candidate Attributes
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to multitask effectively
- Team player and reliable
Required Certifications
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
