About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 10:00 AM - 7:30 PM Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: RN License Required Certifications: ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Candidates must have experience in PACU or ICU. Strong neuro background is required. Ventilator competency is a must. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. The unit consists of 19 main PACU beds and additional beds in a separate area. Staff includes 13 full-time team members. Shifts are scheduled with waterfall patterns, including day shifts of 8, 9, 10, and 12 hours. Night shifts may require being on call after specified times. Patient ratios are typically 2:1, or 1:1 for unstable cases and pediatric patients. Equipment used includes ventilators and various monitoring systems. The electronic medical records system utilized is Meditech. Typical duties include setting up PCA pumps and managing drip titrations. Registered Nurses will be expected to perform arterial line blood draws. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, be a team player, and be reliable. Floating to other areas is not required. The dress code is navy scrubs. On-call duties include weeknight and weekend shifts, with a rotation among staff.
