Renewable Energy Client Accounting - Senior Associate

Senior Associate – Renewable Energy The Senior Associate will support the Renewable Energy accounting team within the Client Accounting Advisory practice. This hybrid role may be performed remotely with occasional travel to CohnReznick offices for client work, team meetings, or training. Responsibilities Support the Renewable Energy accounting team and deliver client work product on schedule. Perform accounting services independently, including managing teams, ensuring delivery of monthly financials, and staying on budget and deadlines. Conduct thorough self‑review of all work prior to external review. Develop proficiency in necessary technology and serve as a resource for other staff. Ensure quality control procedures are followed and executed. Identify areas for process improvement for client work and practice operations. Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and internal stakeholders. Respond promptly and accurately to internal team and client requests. Maintain compliance with firm policies and professional ethics of the AICPA and state society. Represent and promote the firm positively. Participate in mentoring, recruiting, retention, and team‑building activities directly related to job responsibilities. Seek new knowledge, tasks, and responsibilities proactively. Communicate difficult situations to leadership appropriately. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree; CPA preferred but not required. Proven ability to drive and lead month‑end close processes, including ownership of deadlines and reviews of work performed by team members. Strong GAAP experience and hands‑on experience performing consolidations, GL close, and financial reporting for the renewable energy industry. Experience with renewable energy projects, development and/or contractor operations, including project costing and transfer of projects. Strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS) required. Hands‑on operational accounting experience in QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar AP and expense automation tools preferred. Strong project and time‑management skills, accuracy, and attention to detail. Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines. Significant knowledge of accounting and finance processes and functions; strong understanding of financial statement preparation and analysis. Salary In Massachusetts, the salary range for an Advisory Senior Associate is $80,000 to $130,000. Actual compensation within the range depends on skills, experience, qualifications, and location, and complies with applicable employment laws.
