Bookkeeper / Office Manager

Location: Madison, NJ

Are you an organized, detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys managing both financial responsibilities and office operations? Our client is seeking a Bookkeeper / Office Manager to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a diverse role, taking ownership of bookkeeping functions while helping support the day-to-day operations of the office.

Key ResponsibilitiesBookkeeping & Finance

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including vendor invoices, check processing, client invoicing, and collections.
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit & loss statements and balance sheets.
• Maintain accurate general ledger records and assist with financial reporting.
• Handle sales tax payments, 1099 preparation, and compliance-related activities.
• Support year-end close and audit preparation.

Office Management & Administration

• Oversee office supplies, vendor relationships, and equipment maintenance.
• Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems.
• Manage correspondence, calendars, and administrative processes.
• Provide support to ensure smooth daily office operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping and office administration.
• Strong knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
• Understanding of GAAP principles, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• High school diploma required; degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is a plus.
