Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our team at a rural critical access hospital. In this role, you will provide high-quality care to patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery, ensuring the safety and comfort of both the mother and newborn.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive nursing care during the labor and delivery process.Monitor patient vital signs and fetal heart rate continuously.Administer medications and interventions as prescribed.Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.Educate patients and families on the labor and delivery process and postpartum care.Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (Cerner EMR).Assist in triage and manage well baby nursery as needed.Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to best practices for maternal and newborn care.QualificationsCurrent Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required.Minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing.Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP required.Ability to float to different tasks as needed.Excellent communication and patient care skills.Work ScheduleThis position offers alternating shifts of 36 and 48 hours per week on nights. The schedule includes a blocked rotation of 7 days on followed by 7 days off, with no call required. All requests for time off must be included in the initial submission, as last-minute requests will not be considered.Patient Care EnvironmentYou will be working in a unit that includes four regular LDRP rooms, one triage room, and a well baby nursery, ensuring a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:1 for optimal care.
