Associate Attorney

Fitch Johnson Larson, P.A. is hiring a full-time associate attorney. We are an AV-rated insurance defense firm specializing in workers’ compensation litigation in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Workers’ compensation practice provides a unique opportunity to newer attorneys to quickly develop their own skills and practice. Fitch Johnson Larson provides the training and support for newer attorneys to succeed and we also have a thriving and growing practice with ample opportunities for more experienced attorneys.

We are seeking Minnesota-based candidates licensed in Minnesota with zero to three years of experience, though we will also consider applicants with more experience. We are seeking applicants who have performed well in law school and/or the work environment. Past worker’s compensation experience is a plus, but not required. Responsibilities

- Provide legal support to clients and assist Senior Associates

- Drafting and reviewing legal documents with precision and clarity

- Developing thoughtful and effective litigation strategies

- Conduct legal research

- Develop claim negotiation skills while negotiating settlements

- Reviewing documentation and preparing reports while providing updates to attorneys and clients

- Conducting depositions

- Continue to develop an understanding of Workers Comp rules and regulations by participating in approved continued education programs

- Ensuring confidentiality

Qualifications

- Accredited Law Degree

- License to Practice Law in the State of Minnesota

- Ability to organize data, multi-task and make decisions independently and timely

• Salary $90,000 - $100,000 depending on experience
