Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Full Time Permanent

Company: Avera Sacred Heart Hospital Work Shift: Night Shift (United States of America) Pay and Incentives Pay range: 12‑hour shifts from 7 pm to 7 am. Eligible for a $15,000 sign‑on bonus with a 3‑year commitment. Eligible for Avera’s Student Loan Repayment Program: $167 per month (up to $10,000) paid by Avera. Responsibilities Assessment, treatment, and management, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions affecting the cardiopulmonary system for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, and adults. Proficient in all modalities of respiratory care, including oxygen therapy, breathing treatments, airway clearance, blood gases, airway management, and both non‑invasive and invasive ventilator set‑up and monitoring. Evaluate patients and administer respiratory and cardiopulmonary treatments and tests per prescribing orders. Accurately document patient assessment, interventions, and progress in the electronic medical record and submit charges in a timely manner. Initiate and implement respiratory care plans in conjunction with the entire healthcare team. Perform administration, set‑up, titration, maintenance, evaluation, and documentation of supplemental oxygen, aerosol therapy, airway clearance techniques, mechanical invasive or non‑invasive ventilator management, and preparation of respiratory medications. Assist in patients’ respiratory or cardiac arrest by performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency airway care. Perform arterial and capillary punctures; run venous, arterial, and capillary blood gas samples, electrolytes, and lactic acid tests; maintain and operate the Blood Gas analyzer. Assist in Pulmonary Rehab by providing appropriate exercises and education. Assist in outpatient clinic as needed; schedule sleep studies and obtain prior authorizations. Perform diagnostic testing through pulmonary function, stress exercise, electrocardiogram, electroencephalogram, oximetry, Holter, and cardiac event monitoring. Instruct clinical staff on respiratory therapy equipment and EKG equipment usage. Assist in implementing and updating policies and procedures, maintain quality assurance reports and records, and order supplies. Qualifications Required: Active Respiratory Therapist license in the state of practice (upon hire). Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) – NBRC (upon hire) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – NBRC (upon hire). Preferred: Bachelor’s degree.
