Your future role at a glance Location: Wichita, KS Facility: Via Christi Hospital St. Francis Department: Emergency Department Schedule: Night Shift | Full-time, 36 hours weekly, 7:00pm-7:00am, rotating weekends and holidays Via Christi associates are eligible for tuition discounts and priority placement in select healthcare programs through our academic partnership with Wichita State University. How you'll make an impact in this role Provide basic and advanced life support treatment, care and evaluation of patients. Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient under the direction and in collaboration with a physician and/or Registered Nurse. Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition and treatment, as appropriate. Provide population specific education to the patient and family about the patient's illness and therapeutic interventions. Inspect, maintain and care for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public. What minimum qualifications you'll need Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date OR job transfer date required. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted. Paramedic credentialed from the Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services (KSBEMS) required. Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted. Drivers License credentialed from the Kansas Department of Motor Vehicles preferred.
