Job Title: Charge Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Nursing Administration Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 18:30 - 07:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a skilled nursing or 24/7 skilled care environment. License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Minimum of 13 weeks of Epic experience - Managerial experience - Med-Surg or inpatient rehabilitation experience Description: This is a dual role. The facility offers specialized programs for individuals who have experienced stroke, brain and spinal-cord injuries, amputations, and complex orthopedic injuries, among other conditions requiring inpatient rehabilitative services. The goal is to help patients achieve their highest level of recovery with the aim of returning home as soon as possible. The facility strives to maximize health, function, and quality of life through comprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitation programs. The facility is accredited for its Comprehensive Integrated Inpatient Rehabilitation Program and Stroke Specialty Program. Position Information: The role involves providing leadership and support to nursing staff. Nurses are required to assist and support certified nursing assistants and respond to patient call lights for safety. Attendance policy requires adherence to internal attendance and tardy policy. Scheduling requires mandatory 30-minute breaks unless supervisor approved, with additional paid 15-minute breaks for a 12-hour shift. Staff must clock out for the required break. Staff are not permitted to stay past their shift end time unless approved by the supervisor. Unit Information: The patient population consists of adults requiring inpatient rehabilitation services with high acuity needs. The capacity of the unit is 49 beds with a patient ratio of 1:7. Equipment available includes mobility aids, vital machines, EKG machines, and computers for charting. Electronic health records are managed through Epic.
