Assistant Shop Manager - Brentwood

Job Summary As a Retail Assistant Manager at See’s Candies, you will support the Shop Manager in achieving sales targets, maintaining customer service excellence, and ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations at our Sand Creek Crossing location in Brentwood, CA. Key Responsibilities Assist the Shop Manager in providing effective leadership to the retail team. Set an example by achieving daily, monthly, and annual sales goals. Communicate and implement company direction, policies, and programs. Delegate tasks, ensure team compliance, and provide necessary follow‑up. Resolve customer and employee concerns professionally and timely. Aid in training and developing team members on company programs, policies, and procedures. Provide support and feedback to team members to enhance their performance and growth. Assist in recruitment by identifying and recommending qualified candidates. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, ethical standards, and safety protocols. Monitor and control expenses to meet budgetary goals. Support cash‑handling procedures, protection of company assets, and banking. Maintain accurate timekeeping records and approve weekly payroll. Ensure compliance with state and federal wage and break laws. Collaborate with the Shop Manager and District Sales Managers to create and implement weekly work schedules. Manage paperwork for banking, new hires, and inventory to meet deadlines. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications At least 1 year of retail management experience. Proven success in developing, motivating, training, and coaching employees. Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills. Strong cash handling and merchandising ability. Ability to follow, implement, and enforce company policies and procedures. Proactive work performance and ability to grow the business by seeking sales opportunities. Capability to learn new technologies quickly and manage change efficiently. Physical ability to carry out the essential functions of the job, including lifting up to 25 lbs, standing, walking, and stocking shelves. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
