The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for determining the optimal manufacturing methods and processes for producing company products from start‑up, building the product line, through satisfactory production. This includes analyzing engineering design documents to establish manufacturing methods and processes, creating conceptual sketches, and initiating the design and building of required tooling. Manufacturing Engineer’s responsibilities include supporting manufacturing operations in the production of filtration products by improving safety, ergonomics, on‑time delivery, productivity, and increasing yields. Identifying and developing all production, assembly, and test processes and procedures; ensuring products are produced in the safest and most economical manner. Ultimate quality characteristics and product design integrity must be adhered to. The Manufacturing Engineer position is part of the Engineering Department and will be located in Cortland, NY. Responsibilities Action‑plan problem‑solving, root cause analysis, and corrective actions. Partner with direct manufacturing operations in terms of safety, quality, productivity, and timely delivery to external customers. Ensure all related routing, fixtures, tooling, procedures, and processes for specific product lines are appropriate and safe. Focus on reduction in process variation, waste reduction, standard work creation, preventative maintenance, process and quality upsets, and optimized cell design. Implement Lean Manufacturing and Statistical Process Control concepts and initiatives, and participate in the New Product Introduction Team. Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with up to 1 year of professional experience (Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering). Proficient in MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Minitab is a plus. Experience identifying and implementing improvements to processes, tools, and tooling. Experience with Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing a plus. Knowledge of PLC programming a plus. Salary range for this role is $70,000 - $85,000. This range may be modified in the future.
