This role provides leadership and support in operations, clinical practice, regulatory compliance, budgetary and financial stewardship, and is a strategic partner to the administrative team, broadly supporting local strategy and initiatives. The Director of Pharmacy ensures optimal provision and coordination of services and resources and oversees implementation of patient medication safety strategies, ensures utilization of best practice clinical programs and cost savings initiatives to operations and standardizes processes where appropriate while working in alignment with the system pharmacy team and director colleagues across the enterprise to standardize, align, and elevate pharmacy practice to drive a standardized and patient centric care experience.Sutter Memorial Medical Center is one of the Central Valley's leading acute care hospitals and a key facility within the Sutter Health network. Located in Modesto, California, the hospital is licensed for 419 beds and serves patients throughout Stanislaus County and the surrounding region. It is designated as a Level II Trauma Center, providing advanced emergency and critical care services for complex injuries and medical emergencies.Sutter Memorial Medical Center offers a broad range of specialized clinical services, including cardiovascular care, cancer treatment, orthopedics, women's and children's services, maternity care, neonatal intensive care, stroke care, and advanced surgical services. The organization is recognized for combining innovative medicine with a patient-centered approach, supported by multidisciplinary care teams and access to the resources of one of Northern California's largest integrated health systems.Job Description:EDUCATION:Doctorate: Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy.CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:PHARMD-Licensed PharmacistRPH-Registered Pharmacist​TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:12 years recent relevant experience.SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:Possesses knowledge and has expertise in all aspects of hospital pharmacy operations including budgeting, current laws and regulation, basic clinical skills, and being abreast of new developments in drug therapy, technology and current healthcare issues.Demonstrated ability in healthcare management with experience in management and integration of multiple entities; budget preparation and planning for multiple facilities; development and monitoring of staff productivity systems and quality improvement and establishment of quality standards.Demonstrated success in major project coordination and implementation of successful best practice clinical programs and cost containment initiatives.Requires knowledge of legal requirements and accreditation standards including California State Board of Pharmacy (CABOP), The Joint Commission (TJC), California Department of Public Health and Title XXII, United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and United States Pharmacopeia (USP).Leadership skills, including team building, and coaching/mentoring with the ability to motivate and engage others.Verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects while delivering quality service and achieving business results.Job Shift:DaysSchedule:Full TimeDays of the Week:Monday - FridayWeekend Requirements:As NeededBenefits:YesUnions:NoPosition Status:ExemptWeekly Hours:40Employee Status:RegularSutter Health is an equal opportunity employer EOE/M/F/Disability/Veterans.Pay Range is $220,064.00 to $352,102.40 / annual salaryThe compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled.
