Position Engineering Technician Department Engineering Job Description The Engineering Technician is responsible for process improvements and the documentation of such processes in accordance with Core-Tech and customer specifications. Duties and Responsibilities Demonstrate the ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions Record-keeping skills Ability to use calipers and micrometers Ability to use customer-supplied gauging Write procedures and or work instructions for all aspects of the process Maintaining lot tractability Troubleshooting problems throughout the process Support engineering in the testing of material and facilitating the outsourcing of such testing Minimum Job Specifications Demonstrate the ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions Demonstrate the ability to use both liquid and dry measuring devices (i.e. scale and graduated cylinder) Record-keeping skills Ability to use calipers and micrometers Maintaining traceability A positive attitude Great attendance Organization Relationships The Engineering Technician reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager and has a support responsibility to all functional managers. Job Requirements The Engineering Technician should have a technical degree or be working towards one, preferably in a field that offers an opportunity to gain a well-rounded background. Additional classwork in management-type courses and problem-solving techniques are preferred but not needed (i.e. Statistical Quality Control/Statistical Process Control). Must be able to read instructions as well as blueprints and also apply basic mathematical skills.
