Job Description Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) As a Medical Support Specialist you will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable results. You will work under the guidance of the Center Manager for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The role requires familiarity with plasma collection regulations and participation in environmental, health and safety support. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis. Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician's standing orders and transport to emergency care. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues. Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation required by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance. Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, supporting investigations of potential pandemic threats. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; or graduate-level recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. State license or certification in the state of assignment: EMT‑Paramedic. Current CPR and AED certification. Completion of basic IV therapy as required by state. Completion of FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years clinical or hospital experience. Compensation and Benefits Hourly wage range: $24.32 - $33.44 (US – GA – Douglasville). Compensation is adjusted based on qualifications, experience, and local minimum wage requirements.
