About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - PACU Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Experience in PreOp, Phase 1, and Phase 2 Description: The position involves working in a Post Anesthesia Care Unit. The unit adheres to ASPAN guidelines for staffing and patient ratios. In Phase 1, the nurse-to-patient ratio will not exceed 1:2. Phase 2 will generally have 2 RNs with a total of 3 RNs in coverage. Call requirements consist of about 3-4 shifts per month. Weekend call may occur once every 8 weeks. Call response requires being dressed and ready to work within 30 minutes. Staff works four 10-hour shifts each week. PreOp begins at 6 AM, Phase 1 starts at 8 AM, and Phase 2 starts at 7 AM. No floating outside of this department is expected. The charting system used is Epic. Cancellation policies will apply as per standard guidelines. Additional shift-specific training will be provided following a general orientation. All applicants must have current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
