TITLE: Teacher EMPLOYMENT TERMS: 184-day contract SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Exempt - Certified GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES The teacher will foster a positive relationship with students, faculty, staff, and parents to motivate student development. Responsibilities include maintaining confidentiality, delivering a flexible program, and providing a safe classroom environment that promotes learning and growth. PRINCIPLE DUTIES Teaches district-approved curriculum. Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis. Meets and instructs assigned classes at the designated locations and times. Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior. Evaluates students’ academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports. Collaborates with instructional staff, other school personnel, parents, and community resources to improve student outcomes and support the school improvement plan. Monitors students in various environments to provide a safe and positive learning environment. Is available to students and parents for education-related activities outside instructional hours as assigned. Attends site and district workshops to maintain/provide professional growth. Complies with all rules, regulations, and policies related to duties. Performs management duties or other duties as assigned during the contract period. OCCUPATIONAL CONDITION Low risk form of work with potential for indoor noise exposure, standing for extended periods, and possible outdoor travel in inclement conditions between buildings for meetings or classes. QUALIFICATIONS Valid Arizona certificate for the position and subject areas assigned Structured English Immersion (SEI) endorsement Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (AZ IVP FPCC) SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE Applying reason to research and solve moderately complex issues with little or no assistance Interpreting instructions furnished in variable forms Performing basic original research to assist with developing teaching plans and materials Maintaining and updating documentation Organizing and maintaining records and program information Gathering data, analyzing findings, and applying logic Authoring reports, documents, and presentations Researching industry trends, solutions and best practices Maintaining confidentiality Utilizing a computer and relevant software applications Using communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with coworkers, the public, and others POSITION EXPECTATIONS Time management: Prioritize tasks as assigned by supervisor. Stress management: periodic stress due to deadlines. Public contact: interaction with students, parents, and staff. EVALUATION & SUPERVISION Evaluation procedure: The evaluation is conducted by the Site Principal/Assistant Principal(s). Supervision: The teacher reports to the Site Principal.
