\nIs seeking a Full time Orthopedic Surgeon (Sports Medicine).
\nThe Department of Orthopedic Surgery is seeking a full-time, sports medicine surgeon to join our program at a top-ranked childrens hospital.
\nChildrens Mercy Sports Medicine Center (-and- clinics/orthopedics/sports -medicine/) offers a full spectrum of world-class care for youth, adolescent, and young adult athletes in Kansas City and throughout the Midwest. Our multi-disciplinary team consists of 2 orthopedic surgeons, 3 sports medicine physicians, 1 nurse practitioner, 40 athletic trainers, 15 physical therapists, a sports psychologist, and sports dietitians. In addition, the Orthopedic Surgery department includes 11 additional surgeons and one non-operative musculoskeletal physician with sections of hand surgery, spine surgery, sports medicine, and trauma. Childrens Mercy Kansas City is the academic training site for numerous pediatric, family practice, and orthopedic residency programs in the Kansas City area.
\nThe ideal candidate will be board certified or board eligible in orthopedic surgery and have completed a sports medicine fellowship or a pediatric orthopedic fellowship with significant sports exposure.

- ACS Level 1 pediatric trauma center \n
- Partnership with 28 high schools in the region with opportunities for sideline coverage. \n
- Collaboration with dedicated sports physical therapists at 3 sites around the city with state-of-the-art rehab facilities including aquatic therapy \n
- Expanding opportunities for research with dedicated sports medicine research coordinator \n
- Opportunity for fellow level education in pediatric sports medicine (non-operative) and pediatric orthopedic surgery \n
- Numerous opportunities to participate in graduate and undergraduate medical education \n
- Academic appointments are available through the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine (UMKC) \n
