Associate Director, Procurement Category Management & Capability Leadership - AI/Emerging Technology

AbbVie seeks an Associate Director to lead global procurement strategy for AI and emerging technologies. This strategic role combines software sourcing expertise with capability building, stakeholder engagement, and complex contract negotiations across a matrixed organization.
Responsibilities
- Partner with VP-level stakeholders to develop global AI and emerging technology procurement strategies aligned with governance and risk requirements
- Build and deploy procurement capability playbooks covering intake, sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, contracting, and renewals
- Design and deliver training and coaching to procurement teams and business partners on sourcing best practices
- Lead high-value contract negotiations for complex AI and emerging technology initiatives, managing cross-functional alignment
- Conduct end-to-end strategic sourcing from demand assessment through competitive evaluation and contract execution
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Technology, or related field
- Minimum 10 years of procurement, supply chain, technology, consulting, or operations experience
- Demonstrated expertise in software strategic sourcing and category management
- Proven ability to lead complex technology contract negotiations and supplier relationships
- Experience developing executive-level deliverables and influencing senior leadership
- Strong market analysis and competitive bidding capabilities
