Compliance Specialist Posting Number: 2026612. Location: San Marcos. Department: Institutional Compliance. Job Type: Full-Time. Monthly Salary: $4,390.00 - $4,890.00. Job Description The Compliance Specialist is responsible for compiling, preparing and managing departmental compliance documentation and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Job Duties Reporting to the Assoc. VP for Institutional Compliance and Ethics. Assisting with departmental compliance requirements, including Clery, Equal Opportunity, Title IX, and ADA/ADAA; serving as backup to the Clery Act Compliance Officer. Conducting compliance assessments, collaborating with compliance partners, investigating allegations of noncompliance, reviewing and revising policy, and preparing detailed reports. Serving as case manager and maintaining departmental websites and databases. Required Qualifications Knowledge of Federal and State regulations governing higher education compliance requirements. Working knowledge of industry protocols and best practices. Superior attention to detail. Strong communicator capable of expressing oneself clearly both in speaking and in writing. Collaborative personality and openness to suggestions from team members. Excellent analytical skills and ability to accurately interpret complex documents and policies. Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines. Strong moral code and sense of ethics. Bachelor’s Degree. Preferred Qualifications Two years of experience working in higher education compliance. Compliance certification. Master’s Degree. Experience negotiating and mediating conflicts.
