About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical-Surgical Orthopedic unit. The RN will provide direct patient care to adult medical-surgical patients with orthopedic conditions in a fast-paced hospital setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment, prior travel experience, and the ability to work night shifts independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to med/surg orthopedic patients
• Monitor patient conditions and administer medications/treatments
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Document patient care accurately in EPIC system
• Manage patient assignments (approx. 1:6 ratio)
• Float to units of equal or lower acuity when required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Prior travel RN experience required
• Active RN license (Texas or compact license)
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS preferred
• ACLS preferred
• Must be comfortable with night shifts and floating

Additional Notes

• First-time travelers are not eligible
• No local travelers from restricted Texas counties (Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, Morris)
