Piping Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Piping Superintendent to lead piping construction activities on a major industrial project. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising site-based piping installation, fabrication, testing and commissioning activities, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, schedules and quality standards. This role will involve close coordination with engineering, construction, quality, planning, commissioning and subcontractor teams to achieve project milestones.


Key responsibilities will include planning daily and weekly work fronts, allocating labour and equipment, monitoring productivity and resolving technical or logistical issues that may affect progress. You will oversee piping installation, supports, valves, equipment connections, pressure testing, flushing, reinstatement and punch-list close-out. The role will also require regular review of construction documentation, inspection and test plans, method statements and risk assessments, as well as ensuring that permits, isolations and safe systems of work are properly implemented. You will maintain accurate records, provide progress updates and support the identification and resolution of design changes, material shortages and site constraints.


Applicants should have substantial experience in piping construction supervision, preferably within an oil and gas, petrochemical, power, infrastructure or other heavy industrial environment. A relevant technical qualification, trade background or equivalent practical experience is required, together with a strong understanding of piping codes, construction practices, testing requirements and quality control processes. Demonstrable experience managing multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors is essential. You must be confident reading isometric drawings, plot plans and specifications, and be capable of working to demanding schedules while maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship. Strong communication, leadership, organisation and problem-solving skills are vital. The ability to work flexibly on a project site, promote a positive safety culture and collaborate effectively with personnel at all levels is also expected.
