Patient Care Tech, PRN (Days)

Methodist Hospital for Surgery 17101 Dallas Pkwy Addison, TX 75001, USA This position will assist in patient care throughout the nursing areas and is responsible for the safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services, and appropriate documentation of services. The role also provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation in order to maximize safety. Additionally, the candidate performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate the efficient functioning of the nursing unit. Requirements High school diploma or GED equivalent Minimum of two years of patient care experience preferred BLS certificate or within one month of hire Essential Functions Observes and reports patient’s status and needs. Answers call lights and attends to/reports patient needs. Obtains specimens and transports to and sends through designated tube. Transfers, moves, and repositions patients. Makes occupied and unoccupied beds. Maintains current knowledge and certification requirements. Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job‑related hazards. Physical Demands Represents the physical demands required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
