Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care to patients in labor and delivery, ensuring safe and effective delivery processes. Supervises and collaborates with healthcare teams to support positive maternal and neonatal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Assess patients in labor to determine progress and identify complications.
Develop and implement individualized care plans for laboring patients.
Administer medications and interventions per physician orders and hospital protocols.
Educate patients and families on birth processes, postpartum care, and newborn care.
Monitor fetal heart rate and maternal vitals continuously to ensure safety.
Coordinate with obstetricians, pediatricians, and healthcare staff to facilitate smooth delivery.

Qualifications:

Hold a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Possess at least two years recent experience in labor and delivery nursing.
Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor.
Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred.
Demonstrate strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills.
