For more information, please visit Position Summary: Responsible for safely and efficiently welding steel and aluminum components according to production schedules, blueprints, weld symbols, work instructions, and established quality standards. This position performs MIG and TIG welding operations, loads and positions parts in welding fixtures, prepares and fits components for welding, inspects completed welds, and performs grinding and finishing as needed to achieve the required cosmetic appearance and quality of the finished product. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and capable of consistently producing quality work while meeting daily production requirements. Position Responsibilities: Perform MIG and TIG welding on steel and aluminum components in a production environment. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and welding symbols to determine proper welding requirements. Load, position, align, and secure parts in weld fixtures according to established work instructions. Verify proper part fit-up, alignment, and positioning before beginning the welding process. Set up and adjust welding equipment based on material type, material thickness, welding process, and job requirements. Select and use the appropriate welding wire, shielding gas, and welding parameters for the application. Use grinders and other hand tools to clean, smooth, and finish welds as needed to achieve the required cosmetic appearance and finished-product specifications. Remove weld spatter, sharp edges, and other unwanted material as required. Inspect completed welds and parts for proper appearance, quality, placement, and dimensional accuracy. Use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and other inspection equipment to verify part dimensions and requirements. Identify and communicate weld defects, dimensional issues, incorrect parts, or other quality concerns to the Lead or Supervisor.Follow production schedules and work efficiently to meet daily production requirements. Complete required production paperwork and documentation accurately. Maintain welding machines, fixtures, tools, and work areas in clean and proper working conditions. Safely handle, position, and move steel and aluminum components throughout the production process. Follow all company safety policies, welding safety procedures, and required PPE practices. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Work effectively with Leads, Supervisors, Quality personnel, and other team members to address production or quality issues. Perform other welding and production-related duties as assigned. Position Requirements (Knowledge and Experience): Previous experience in a production welding or metal fabrication environment preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform MIG welding on steel and aluminum. TIG welding experience a plus. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols. Ability to understand basic dimensions, tolerances, and part specifications. Ability to properly load and position components in welding fixtures. Ability to use basic measuring tools, including tape measures and calipers. Ability to set up and adjust welding equipment based on material type and thickness. Ability to visually inspect welds and identify common welding defects or quality concerns. Experience using grinders and hand tools to prepare and finish welded components. Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions accurately. Ability to work safely around welding equipment, grinders, metal components, and other manufacturing equipment. Ability to work efficiently while maintaining consistent quality and meeting daily production schedules. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
