Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatrics RN with CA licensure and prior travel experience for a night shift assignment requiring float coverage to PICU/NICU.

Details

• Primary placement in Pediatrics unit with floating to PICU/NICU as needed
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Epic EMR experience required
• Pediatric MedSurg, Pediatric oncology, and Pediatric Step Down work settings

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• APHON certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Pediatric experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• PICU and NICU float experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, and TPN/lipids administration
• Experience with pediatric dosage calculations and anti-seizure medication administration
• Skills in respiratory care including chest tube management, suctioning, and oxygen delivery systems
• Experience with indwelling urinary catheter insertion and management
• Knowledge of infection prevention, isolation precautions, and wound care
• Experience with Pediatric Early Warning Score (PEWS) and Rapid Response Team protocols
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to pediatric patients across MedSurg, oncology, and step-down settings
• Deliver chemotherapy administration and symptom management for oncology patients when applicable
• Support feeding methods including bottle, breast, and gavage feeding, along with breastfeeding support
• Manage neurologic conditions including neuromuscular disease and seizure disorders
• Monitor cardiovascular status including post cardiac catheterization care and telemetry
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at the local rate
• Returning employees must have a one-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only one holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
