Sacramento Branch: Adjunct Community & Mental Health Nursing Clinical Faculty

Job Title and Summary Adjunct Community & Mental Health Nursing Clinical Faculty – Sacramento Branch The School of Nursing and Health Professions seeks to hire part‑time (adjunct) faculty to provide clinical instruction to pre‑licensure students in medical/surgical, geriatrics, pediatrics, obstetrics, or mental health settings. Applicants must hold a current, active, unencumbered California RN license and have at least one year of continuous direct patient‑care experience, or experience as a clinical instructor, within the last five years. Job Responsibilities Maintain presence at assigned clinical sites during scheduled instruction, or coordinate remote supervision as outlined in the contract. Conduct pre‑shift meetings, mid‑shift huddles, and post‑shift debriefings for students. Facilitate student learning by coaching skill development and promoting safe, high‑quality patient care. Supervise student groups in the clinical setting as specified. Evaluate student performance, provide frequent feedback, and write mid‑term and final performance evaluations. Attend departmental, program, and clinical level meetings. Travel to clinical sites, which are not located on the USF campus, at least weekly, and at least once per semester. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Evidence of a primary clinical expertise area and demonstrable teaching skills. Continuous direct patient‑care experience in one of the specified areas within the last five years. Eligibility for assistant instructor approval by the CA Board of Registered Nursing in one of the specified areas. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Maintain current RN licensure and AHA Professional Rescuer CPR certification. Valid California driver’s license and appropriate immunization records. Remuneration Salary : $2,101 per unit; salary range – note to check if additional details needed.
