Field Service Technician

NAG Marine is seeking a Field Service Technician to provide OEM technical support and field service for both U.S. Navy and commercial marine customers. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on technician who enjoys troubleshooting complex systems, traveling to customer sites, and working with advanced marine technologies. About the Role As a Field Service Technician, you will serve as the technical representative for NAG Marine, performing equipment installation, commissioning, diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, and customer support both onboard vessels and at shore‑based facilities. You will play a key role in ensuring mission‑critical systems operate safely and reliably. Responsibilities Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain marine electrical and electronic systems. Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, commissioning, and system testing. Provide technical support and training to customers during service visits. Document service activities, repair findings, and recommendations in detailed service reports. Coordinate with internal engineering and technical support teams to resolve complex issues. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with OEM specifications, customer requirements, and safety standards. Travel to customer locations throughout the United States and overseas to perform onsite service and support. Qualifications Experience troubleshooting electrical, electronic, mechanical, or automation systems. Familiarity with PLCs, industrial controls, or marine systems is preferred. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently in field environments and manage travel schedules. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Confidential Security Clearance. Travel This position is based in Norfolk, Virginia, with approximately 75% travel, primarily Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend travel as required to support customer operations.
