Demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise, utilizing age‑and‑population‑specific standards related to physical and psychosocial needs. Perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status and provide necessary care. Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents. Contribute to resident assessments and administer medications or treatments as ordered. Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed. Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and the public. Work effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team. Counsel residents, family members, or resident advocates, under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician, on prevention and treatment plans. Apply knowledge of resident education principles to develop a self‑care program. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred. If the position requires IV therapy/management skills, graduation from a Board‑approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing is required. Have attended a pre‑licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the lifespan or have completed a minimum of 400 hours of experience as an LPN at another facility. Currently hold an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse license with the state nursing board and/or possess multi‑state licensure privileges. Complete required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training as per the department and facility.
