This role will focus on improving equipment performance, supporting advanced automation technologies, and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced production environment.Key ResponsibilitiesHigh-Speed Automation & Equipment SupportDesign, develop, and support high-speed automated assembly systems with throughput rates up to 360 parts per minuteTroubleshoot and optimize automation equipment to ensure maximum uptime, efficiency, and qualitySupport equipment upgrades, retrofits, and new capital installationsCollaborate with controls engineers, integrators, and maintenance teams on system improvementsMaterial Handling & Automation SystemsSupport automated material handling systems including robotics, AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots), AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles), and conveyor systemsImprove systems for movement, storage, and retrieval of totes, pallets, and componentsIdentify opportunities to enhance system flow, reduce bottlenecks, and improve throughputVision Systems & QualitySupport and optimize high-speed vision inspection systems used for part quality verificationWork with quality and controls teams to maintain and improve inspection accuracy and reliabilityAssist in root cause analysis for defects identified through automated inspection systemsManufacturing Support & Continuous ImprovementProvide hands-on engineering support to production operationsLead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives using:Lean Manufacturing principlesSix Sigma methodologiesPDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act)RCA (Root Cause Analysis)Analyze process data to identify trends and drive improvements in safety, quality, and productivityCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance teamsSupport supplier interactions, equipment vendors, and system integratorsParticipate in design reviews, project planning, and technical problem-solvingRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field5 years minimum experience with automated manufacturing systems and equipmentKnowledge of mechanical design, materials, and industrial systemsAbility to troubleshoot complex mechanical and automation-related issuesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting high-speed automation environments (300+ parts per minute preferred)Medical device manufacturing experience strongly preferredExperience with:Robotics and automated material handling systems (AMR, AGV, conveyors)High-speed vision inspection systemsProficiency in Lean and Six Sigma tools and methodologiesFamiliarity with PLC-controlled systems and automated equipment integrationKnowledge of GD&T and design for manufacturability (DFM)Key CompetenciesContinuous improvement mindset with data-driven decision makingStrong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilitiesAbility to work in fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environmentsHands-on, results-oriented approachCollaboration and cross-functional leadershipWork EnvironmentCombination of office and hands-on manufacturing floor supportExposure to high-speed automated equipment and production systemsOccasional travel for equipment installation, vendors, or system validationReporting StructureReports to: Engineering ManagerWorks closely with: Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, Automation/Controls, and Supply ChainBE AWARE OF FRAUD: When applying for a job at Jabil you will be contacted via correspondence through our official job portal with a jabil.com e-mail address; direct phone call from a member of the Jabil team; or direct e-mail with a jabil.com e-mail address.
