This role is highly hands-on and focused on supporting day-to-day production operations, improving equipment performance, and deploying automation solutions to enhance safety, quality, and throughput.Shift: Day ShiftResponsibilitiesProvide direct support to production lines, resolving equipment and automation issues to minimize downtimePerform root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions (QRQC/ 8D)Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, robotics, vision systems, and electrical/mechanical subsystemsSupport shift teams during escalations to ensure rapid recovery of production linesIdentify opportunities to improve cycle time, yield, and equipment reliabilityAnalyze process data to drive OEE improvements and eliminate recurring issuesImplement poka-yoke, error-proofing, and process standardizationSupport cost reduction initiatives through automation and process redesignEnsure adherence to safety, EHS, and Jabil engineering standards throughout all projectsDevelop and maintain technical documentation including schematics, SOPs, and maintenance proceduresEnsure all equipment complies with safety standards (LOTO, guarding, risk assessments)Support audits and ensure proper change management practices are followedQualificationsDegree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, or related0–2 years of automation engineering experience (internships, projects)Automation systems, assembly/test equipment, mechatronicsPLCs, robotics, sensors, motorsVision systems (AOI / AVI basics)Material handling interfaces (AMR/AGV awareness)Lean manufacturing preferredAdditional ExpectationsFollow regional/global automation standardsSupport NPI, new asset introduction, and continuous improvementWork in a hands-on, shop-floor-focused roleBE AWARE OF FRAUD: When applying for a job at Jabil you will be contacted via correspondence through our official job portal with a jabil.com e-mail address; direct phone call from a member of the Jabil team; or direct e-mail with a jabil.com e-mail address.
