I'm currently partnering with a highly respected Seattle-area law firm seeking an experienced Estate Planning Attorney to join its growing trusts and estates practice. This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney who enjoys sophisticated planning work, advising high-net-worth clients, and serving as a strategic advisor on complex tax, wealth preservation, and succession planning matters.

The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a client-facing role, enjoys solving complex tax and estate planning challenges, and wants to build a long-term practice within a collegial and entrepreneurial environment.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design and implement sophisticated estate plans for high-net-worth individuals and families.
• Draft advanced planning documents, including:
  • Revocable and irrevocable trusts
  • ILITs
  • GRATs
  • IDGTs
  • SLATs
  • Family limited partnerships and LLCs
• Advise clients on wealth transfer strategies, gift and estate tax planning, GST tax planning, charitable giving, and multigenerational legacy planning.
• Counsel closely held business owners on succession planning and ownership transitions.
• Collaborate with accountants, financial advisors, fiduciaries, private foundations, and legal professionals across multiple jurisdictions.
• Provide guidance on trust and estate administration and assist with fiduciary-related matters and disputes.

What We're Looking For

• Active Washington State Bar membership.
• Approximately 5+ years of estate planning experience, with a focus on sophisticated and tax-oriented planning.
• LL.M. in Taxation strongly preferred.
• CPA designation or significant tax experience will also be highly valued.
• Strong knowledge of federal estate, gift, GST, and income tax matters.
• Experience advising closely held businesses and business owners is a plus.
• Excellent drafting, analytical, and client counseling skills.
• Ability to manage complex matters while providing exceptional client service.
