Job Description

Tax Manager Overview

• The Tax Manager role focuses on managing consolidated tax provisions and reporting processes under ASC 740.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure SOX compliance and effective tax rate calculations.
• Prepare and review return-to-provision calculations and reconcile filed tax returns.
• Support federal and state income tax compliance, including extensions and estimated tax calculations.
• Assist in modeling and evaluating tax strategies for corporate initiatives and restructurings.
• Monitor changes in tax laws and their implications for the organization.
• Collaborate with external advisors and internal teams for ad-hoc tax-related requests and modeling.
• Contribute to the organization’s tax planning and forecasting efforts.

Tax Manager Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Manage the preparation and review of consolidated quarterly and annual income tax provisions.
• Ensure compliance with SOX and other internal controls related to tax reporting.
• Prepare and review annual return-to-provision calculations and deferred tax schedules.
• Support corporate federal and state income tax compliance and coordinate with external advisors.
• Forecast cash taxes and evaluate the impact of corporate initiatives on tax obligations.
• Perform due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and corporate restructurings.
• Research and analyze changes in tax laws and accounting methods.
• Collaborate with internal teams to address ad-hoc tax modeling and planning requests.

Tax Manager Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, taxation, or related field is required.
• CPA certification is mandatory for this role.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant income tax experience; 7 years preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and experience with complex tax provisions.
• Proficiency in public company tax reporting and SOX compliance.
• Experience with corporate federal and state income tax compliance and consolidated returns.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with tax provision software.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
