Applications Analyst

**This is a 100% onsite role based out of our corporate headquarters in Clayton, MO**

Through a strong knowledge of XTRA Lease's software application and technology infrastructure, help the business effectively utilize our applications. Gain experience and understanding of XTRA Lease's customized application functionality, processes and tools to provide support and solutions. This position will work with a variety of people from all areas of our business and requires analytical and technical skills. XTRA Lease's custom applications range from Contracts, Equipment inventory and tracking, Inspections, Maintenance work orders and Billing.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide Daily support for production applications that includes assistance to end users located in the field, remote sites, or at the Central Support office.
• Perform current state and/or root cause analysis as required to provide direction to development staff in defining solutions.
• Create and run SQL for solutions requiring a data fix.
• Test and diagnose problems with the developed solutions.
• Write complex SQL queries for data analysis
• Provide direction to end users on the solutions or work arounds to issues.
• Coordinate and conduct application testing for new IT projects, including the development of test cases.
• Develop software release notes or User Guides as appropriate.
• Limited to no travel is required.

Job Skills:

• Six to eight years of experience as an applications analyst for IT systems providing development and support.
• Technical aptitude and understanding of the various types of application solution architectures and their limitations such as: Web Applications, Smart Client .net, SSIS
• Experience in various methods of data and application validation approaches: unit test cases, automated test cases, regression testing.
• Experience with Transactional Applications/Systems
• Understanding of RDBMS concepts and database structures, preferably Microsoft SQL Server, and how to use SQL tools to conduct data analysis and fix data.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with multiple people within IT and various business departments.
• Ability to work independently
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
• Experience in the transportation industry with emphasis in ERP leasing and maintenance applications is desirable.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent
