Job Description The Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team Intensive Support Specialist provides outstanding person-centered intensive support services to a small caseload of adults who have current or historical substance use treatment needs, a diagnosed severe and persistent mental health disorder, and who have experienced multiple hospitalizations. Services are comprehensive, integrated, community-based and are based on a multidisciplinary approach to provide psychiatric treatment, social services and rehabilitation. This position reports directly to the Behavioral Health Services Manager and supports the development and maintenance of effective, professional working relationships with stakeholders and other community service providers. It has flexible hours dependent upon the needs of the caseload and offers the option to work remotely for required administrative tasks and televideo services when appropriate. The Intensive Support Specialist regularly meets with individuals in homes, the community, hospitals, crisis units, criminal justice settings, and Bluebonnet Trails clinics to provide specialized case management and rehabilitative skills training. The goal is to stabilize mental health symptoms, reduce the risk of recidivism, increase awareness of and participation with community and natural supports, develop self-advocacy, and assist with independent behavioral health services. The clinician will be an integral part of a strong team, participating in frequent contacts to share updates on the recovery process of individuals in service. The clinician will receive unique and specialized training and professional development focused on services to a small caseload of individuals with multiple hospitalizations and use of a state-of-the-art electronic medical record. This position necessitates innovative thinking, patience, resiliency, skills in advocacy, service coordination, mental health assessment and evaluation, collaborative person-centered recovery planning, and dual-diagnosis treatment. The person will work independently and on a team, prioritize needs during crisis situations, engage in regular meetings and training opportunities, balance self-care, and perform duties with a positive attitude. Location Round Rock, TX Hourly Salary Range $22.21 – $31.46 Annual Salary $46,196.00 – $65,436.00 /year Minimum Qualifications A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum number of hours equivalent to a major in psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human growth and development, physician assistant, gerontology, special education, educational psychology, early childhood education/intervention. Experience in behavioral healthcare, intensive community treatment, and substance use, abuse, and dependency treatment. Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License, meet Bluebonnet Trails Community Services driving requirements, and maintain approved driving status throughout employment. If degree is not in a Human Services field, a minimum of 24 college credits in a Human Services field are required. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience working with an Assertive Community Treatment program, behavioral health, and/or case management. Advanced degree in Human Services field.
