Job Description

Position: Sustainability Ambassador (Internship)
UNCW Dining Sustainability is seeking student interns to serve as Sustainability Ambassadors for the Fall
2025 semester. This is an excellent opportunity to participate in hands-on sustainability initiatives within
campus dining and gain experiential knowledge in food service sustainability.
Our programs include multi-stream waste diversion, microgreens and shoots, aquaponics, and environmental
certifications and grants, and sustainability education initiatives.

Job Responsibilities
• Student Duties Include:
- Maintain microgreens and shoots (planting, watering, harvesting)
- Monitor aquaponics system (water quality testing)
- Assist with sustainability outreach events (setup, breakdown, student engagement)
- Support waste-related initiatives
- Generate social media content
- Perform general office assistance and research

Qualifications
• - Self-motivated, flexible, and quick to learn
- Currently enrolled at UNCW
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Interest and/or experience in sustainability, food service, or food systems
- Comfortable speaking with peers and working in group settings
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
