Machine/Saw Operator

JOB SUMMARY

The Machine Saw Operator safely operates forklifts, side loaders and other industrial equipment to move raw metal materials from inventory to metal‑cutting cells. This is a great opportunity for someone with material handling experience and entry‑level machine operation experience to learn and become proficient with various saw cutting machines (including plate, band and shear industrial saws).

CORE JOB DUTIES

Ensures orderly distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies to other cells, and staging finished product for distribution. Inspect cut material for accuracy and defects using measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, pin‑gauges, etc.) Contributes to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area. Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED (preferred) Basic math and mechanical skills Experience with measurement hand tools such as micrometers and calipers 1+ years’ experience operating a forklift 1+ years' experience working on a saw machine, or other industrial machinery 1+ year of experience working in a warehouse, production, distribution or manufacturing environment Read, write, and speak in English Experience in the metal cutting/distribution industry is a plus Ability to lift up-to 50 lbs.
