Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a qualified Respiratory Therapist to join our team. The selected candidate will provide respiratory care to patients in a fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in collaborative, multidisciplinary settings and are committed to delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory therapy services to adult and geriatric patients.
• Utilize advanced techniques in critical care settings, including intubation assistance and mechanical ventilation management.
• Perform diagnostic tests and interpret arterial blood gas results.
• Administer treatments involving aerosol medications and mechanical ventilation.
• Engage in pulmonary hygiene procedures to enhance patient recovery.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding respiratory care needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a critical care environment is preferred; candidates with 2+ years may be considered.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and RRT are required.
• Virginia State License required; candidates with a pending license may be considered if temporary licensure is obtained prior to start.
• Experience with Epic charting system is mandatory.
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills are essential for success in this role.

Shift Details

• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00).
• Must work every other weekend and every other holiday.
• 36 or 48 hours per week available.

Facility Information

The respiratory therapy team will provide services in a level I trauma center with a robust interdisciplinary approach to patient care.

Vaccination Requirements

• COVID-19 Vaccine: Not Required.
• Flu Vaccine: Required with no exemptions permitted.
