Housing Coordinator

Reports to: Director of Programs Full-time, 40 Hours Nonexempt/Hourly Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide housing counseling to residential and non-residential clients for the purpose of entering and/or maintaining permanent housing. Act as a trained leader in guiding clients into safe and stable housing, from providing education on tenancy barriers to negotiating with property managers. Primary liaison for the Tenant-Based Rental Assistance Program (TBRA) for both residential and non-residential clients. Work closely with program participants to maintain compliance with lease, property rules and subsequent TBRA agreements to reduce evictions. Ensure the program provides excellent and consistent services. Assist clients in connecting to internal and external financial resources to obtain safe and stable housing Identify eligible clients, collect required paperwork, conduct the client intake assessments and redeterminations Assist client(s) with the development and maintenance of housing assessments, service plans, and short-term and long-term goals Foster and maintain positive working relationships with community partners; make client referrals and network with appropriate landlords, agencies and businesses Provide case management and supportive services, including office visits and field visits, advocacy and counseling including housing assistance, employment counseling, education counseling, health care access and goal identification and planning Document all client meetings and groups; maintain confidential client files to meet agency and funder requirements Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel to clients' homes and community spaces to assist clients with housing needs and collaborate with community partners Coordinate disbursement of funds for services with appropriate staff Coordinate client's discharge and follow-up needs Be a champion for the agency, clients and staff at all times Maintain compliance with all agency policies and procedures Attend all meetings and complete all forms and reports required by direct supervisor, funders, Executive Director or the Board Carry out other duties as assigned or as necessary to ensure organizational success Education and/or Work Experience Requirements Minimum of two years of experience in social services. Experience with case management. Experience working with victims of domestic violence. Experience with client advocacy. Experience working with homeless populations a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with clients, staff and community partners Excellent organizational and leadership skills Computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook) Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary service Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices Associate's Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred Physical Requirements Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards and agency policies Must be able to listen and speak clearly on the telephone #J-18808-Ljbffr
