Part-Time HR Assistant

Job Overview We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented, and discreet Part-Time HR Assistant (25-30/week) to join our team at Telic located in Valencia, CA. In this role, you will help coordinate day-to-day human resources operations—ranging from recruitment and onboarding to maintaining employee files and answering staff inquiries. Key Responsibilities Recruitment & Hiring: Post job openings on job boards and other recruiting platforms. Screen resumes, coordinate interview schedules, and communicate with candidates. Assist with reference checks and background screening. Onboarding & Offboarding: Prepare new-hire paperwork, I-9 verification, and orientation packets. Track and follow up on outstanding onboarding and training items. Assist with exit interviews and offboarding documentation. Payroll: Manage payroll processing, reconcile time tracking records, track vacation and sick time, benefit deductions, and resolve employee payroll inquiries in compliance with state and federal regulations. Records & Administration: Maintain and update digital and physical employee personnel files. Assist with tracking attendance and leave requests. Employee Support: Serve as a first point of contact for general employee questions regarding company policies, benefits, and pay. Help coordinate company meetings, safety training, or employee recognition events. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all personnel, medical, and disciplinary records. Required Qualifications & Skills Education: High school diploma or GED required; ongoing or completed degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Experience: 1+ years of administrative, clerical, or human resources support experience (entry-level candidates with strong organizational skills may be considered). Fluency in English and Spanish (verbal and written) is required. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Google Workspace; familiarity with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) or HRIS is a plus. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Discretion: High integrity and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally.
