Staff Accountant | New Haven, CT Target Compensation: 75k – 90k A respected professional services firm is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to support its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Staff Accountant who enjoys account analysis, reconciliations, and solving complex accounting challenges. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, performing complex bank reconciliations, and supporting various accounting functions within a collaborative team environment. Why You’ll Love This Opportunity Join a well-established and professional organization Hands-on accounting role with meaningful responsibilities Opportunity to work on complex reconciliations and accounting projects Collaborative team environment Immediate opportunity to make an impact Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant As a Staff Accountant , you will: Perform complex bank reconciliations across multiple accounts Research and resolve outstanding reconciling items and discrepancies Analyze account activity and investigate variances Prepare and post journal entries Assist with month-end and year-end close activities Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain supporting schedules Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records Support financial reporting and audit preparation Work closely with the accounting team on various accounting projects and initiatives Assist with general accounting functions as needed Preferred Qualifications of the Staff Accountant 5+ years of accounting experience Strong experience performing complex bank reconciliations General ledger and journal entry experience Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software #INSEP2026 EB-3288005515 #J-18808-Ljbffr
