Emergency Veterinarian

Emergency Veterinarian – Part‑Time Pet Emergency and Specialty Center – South County About You You’ll provide excellent, in-the-moment care when patients need it most. You’ll hone your ability to triage and assess critical needs, with a team to back you up and lean on our community to shift in schedule or role. Responsibilities Assess patients at the emergency department, triage, diagnose illnesses, develop treatment plans, and oversee technicians implementing those plans. Perform surgeries and provide critical care as needed. Manage hospitalized patients and ensure a high level of service for all patients in our emergency department. Qualifications Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required. Active state Veterinary Board license in the state of intended employment. DEA license or eligibility to obtain. Experience in emergency medicine, including work experience, small animal rotations, or emergency internships. Hospital Overview Pet Emergency and Specialty Center – South County is an emergency and referral hospital located in the community it serves, focusing on emergency medicine, urgent care, and referral support. The hospital operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Compensation Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience, with an annual PROSAL full-time range starting at $180,000–$250,000 per year. The actual salary offered will consider a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
