The more you participate, the more you earn!/li/ulpThe Infusion Pharmacy Technician supports the preparation, dispensing, and distribution of sterile medications for oncology and infusion patients at Simon Cancer Center at University Hospital. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, this role plays a critical part in delivering safe, timely, and high?quality cancer care within IU Healths academic medical center environment./ppThis position requires strong attention to detail, comfort working in a USP lt;797/lt;800compliant cleanroom, and the ability to function effectively in a fast?paced oncology infusion setting./ppKey Responsibilities/pulliMedication Preparation Compounding/liulliPrepare and compound hazardous and non?hazardous sterile medications, including chemotherapy, biologics, and supportive care infusions, in compliance with USP lt;797, lt;800, and IU Health policies./liliPerform accurate dose calculations, measurements, labeling, and documentation under pharmacist supervision./liliMaintain aseptic technique while working in cleanroom environments (ISO Class 5/7/8)./li/ulliInventory Workflow Support/liulliManage inventory for infusion pharmacy areas, including receiving, stocking, rotating, and removing expired medications./liliAssist with ordering and maintaining adequate par levels for infusion medications and supplies./liliSupport waste documentation, controlled substances handling, and hazardous drug disposal processes./li/ulliPatient Care Operational Support/liulliEnsure timely delivery of prepared medications to infusion clinics and treatment areas./liliCommunicate effectively with pharmacists, nurses, and other care team members regarding medication readiness and workflow status./liliParticipate in quality improvement initiatives, safety reporting, and compliance audits as needed./li/ulliCompliance Safety/liulliAdhere strictly to infection control, hazardous drug handling, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements./liliMaintain required certifications and licensure per state regulation and IU Health policy./liliSupport Primary Source Verification (PSV) and ongoing competency assessments./li/ul/ulpRequired/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalent./liliIndiana Pharmacy Technician license/liliNational pharmacy technician certification (PTCB or NHA)/liliAbility to work in a sterile compounding and hazardous drug environment./liliStrong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety./li/ulpPreferred/pulliPrevious experience as a Pharmacy Technician in an inpatient, infusion, or oncology setting is preferred./liliExperience with sterile compounding and chemotherapy preparation./liliFamiliarity with USP lt;797 and lt;800 standards./liliExperience working within an academic medical center or health system./li/ulpPhysical Work Environment Requirements/pulliAbility to stand for extended periods./liliManual dexterity for compounding and handling sterile products./liliAbility to lift up to 25 pounds./liliWillingness to wear PPE, including gowns, gloves, respirators, and eye protection as required./li/ulpSchedule Location/pulliLocation: Simon Cancer Center University Hospital, Indianapolis, IN/liliSchedule: Day shift 8am 4:30pm with one shift per week covering closing duties with a schedule of 9am 5:30pm.
