Construction Manager (Fridays Only) Bay Systems Consulting | Supporting AECOM at NASA Ames Research Center Location: NASA Ames Research Center – Mountain View, CA Job Type: 3-Month Contract Schedule: Fridays Only, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pay Rate: $50.00–$100.00 per hour (DOE) Position Overview Bay Systems Consulting is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support AECOM on-site at NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View, CA. This is a part-time contract opportunity requiring availability on Fridays only for a three-month assignment. The ideal candidate will have experience managing construction projects from planning through close-out while ensuring compliance with project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with project teams, contractors, clients, and public agencies. Key Responsibilities Manage construction projects through all phases, including pre-construction, bidding, construction execution, and project close-out. Monitor project budgets, review monthly expenditures, and assist with cost control. Evaluate and negotiate contractor change orders and recommend appropriate resolutions. Track contractor schedules and monitor project progress to ensure milestone completion. Review contractor submittals, RFIs, and project documentation for completeness and compliance. Provide technical direction while ensuring adherence to project specifications and quality standards. Coordinate activities among clients, design teams, contractors, and regulatory agencies. Support construction meetings, prepare project reports, and communicate project status to stakeholders. Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, contract requirements, and agency standards. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Minimum of 4 years of construction management experience (8–10+ years preferred for senior-level candidates). Experience managing commercial, institutional, government, or public agency construction projects. Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, budgeting, contract administration, and project controls. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams. Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified Construction Manager (CCM) OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification Experience supporting federal, government, or NASA-related projects is a plus.
