Electrical Foreman / Medium Voltage ElectricianThis role leads electrical construction crews on large industrial and data center projects, with a focus on low-voltage inside-wireman work at 415 V and 480 V and medium-voltage systems at 5 kV and above. You will install, terminate, and energize new electrical infrastructure from construction drawings, including conduit, cable tray, underground duct banks, cable, wire, switchgear, busway, PDUs/UPS, and building feeders. The position is hourly with overtime, requires extensive travel on a rotation schedule, and is centered on new-build construction and commissioning rather than facilities maintenance or plant operations.Responsibilities:Lead electrical construction crews performing low-voltage inside-wireman work on industrial and data center projects.Install and terminate new electrical infrastructure, including conduit, cable tray, underground duct bank, cable, wire, and 480 V building and feeder work.Perform hands-on work with 415 V and/or 480 V systems such as switchgear, busway, PDU/UPS, main switchboards (MSBs), and grounding systems.Build new electrical systems from construction drawings, one-line diagrams, manuals, and work packages, then turn them over upon completion.Follow and enforce lockout/tagout (LOTO) and grounding procedures and support first energization of new 480 V systems.Lead crews performing medium-voltage (MV) construction at 5 kV and above, ensuring safe and efficient work practices.Install e-house medium-voltage switchgear (MVSG), generator step-up transformers (GSUs), 15 kV and 35 kV cable, and associated duct banks.Support hipot and very low frequency (VLF) testing of medium-voltage cable and equipment and coordinate with testing teams.Work adjacent to live campus buses while adhering strictly to NFPA 70E, OSHA 1910.269, and site-specific safety procedures.Install and commission medium-voltage systems at campus voltages such as 12.47 kV, 13.8 kV, and 34.5 kV, moving with project teams as new sites come online.Perform hands-on installation tasks including reading prints, making terminations, landing and torquing connections, and completing physical construction work.Use common electrical test tools such as multimeters, meggers, and ammeters to verify installations and support commissioning activities.Maintain accurate documentation of terminations, testing, and construction progress as required by project standards.Work nights, weekends, and extended shifts as needed during construction and energization phases to meet project schedules.Travel extensively (80% or more) on a rotation basis to active construction sites, working in coordination with project teams.Essential Skills:State journeyman electrician license.Minimum of 5+ years of industrial or data center electrical construction foreman experience leading crews installing conduit, tray, duct bank, cable, and 480 V terminations.Minimum of 5+ years of industrial or data-center construction experience; facilities, service, or plant operations experience does not qualify.Minimum of 5+ years of medium-voltage construction experience at 5 kV or above, with documented 15 kV and/or 35 kV terminations (resume or manufacturer terminator cards).Minimum of 5 years of experience in a lead position plus 10 years of experience in the electrical field.Hands-on experience with 415 V and/or 480 V switchgear, busway, PDU/UPS, main switchboards (MSBs), and grounding.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, one-line diagrams, manuals, and work packages.Proficiency with common electrical test tools, including multimeters, meggers, and ammeters.Working knowledge of NFPA 70E and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures; OSHA 1910.269 experience for medium-voltage switching and clearances.Demonstrated ability to perform MV switching and clearances in accordance with OSHA 1910.269 and NFPA 70E.Ability to perform hands-on installation work, including terminations, landing and torquing connections, and physical construction tasks.Ability to lift 50+ pounds, work at heights, work in confined spaces, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.Willingness to work in an hourly position with overtime, including nights, weekends, and extended shifts during construction and energization.Ability and willingness to travel 80% or more on a construction rotation, with per diem and/or housing provided while on site.Comfort working in a build and commissioning environment rather than facilities-maintenance or operating-plant roles.Additional Skills & Qualifications:Experience in industrial and data center construction or commissioning environments.Demonstrated leadership skills in supervising and directing electrical construction crews.Familiarity with campus medium-voltage systems at 12.47 kV, 13.8 kV, and 34.5 kV.Experience installing e-house medium-voltage switchgear, generator step-up transformers, 15 kV and 35 kV cable, and duct banks.Experience supporting hipot and VLF testing of medium-voltage installations.Strong blueprint reading skills and the ability to work from detailed construction documents.Comfort with extensive travel on a rotation schedule, including per diem/housing arrangements.Ability to adapt to changing project sites and schedules in a fast-paced construction environment.Why Work Here?You will join a high-impact construction organization that is rapidly building out modern data center infrastructure, offering the chance to work on complex, large-scale electrical projects and deepen your expertise in both low- and medium-voltage systems.
