Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Long Term Acute Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) Registered Nurse (RN) position in an inpatient setting. The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in a specialized facility, emphasizing patient safety, individualized care planning, and promoting recovery and rehabilitation. Job Details Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: BLS Certification required prior to first shift; ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH only); minimum two (2) years bedside clinical experience; 0 years of experience required. Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week. Performs a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis for individualized care plans. Identifies teaching needs and collaborates with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to establish goals. Provides timely updates on patient information and status for team conferences. Responsible for accurate, succinct, and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record in accordance with policy. Participates in patient rehabilitation programs on the assigned unit. Manages direct patient care using the nursing process: assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care with a focus on education and safety. Initiates discharge planning from the day of admission and provides patient teaching in anticipation of discharge. Communicates pertinent patient status changes to ensure continuity of care and safety, including informing physicians and team members. Provides direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel, delegating appropriately. Ensures personal and environmental safety following hospital and nursing policies. Contributes positively to the team environment by providing calm direction and reassurance to staff, patients, and families. Maintains communication with management regarding supplies, equipment, and clinical training needs. Provides cost-effective care while promoting quality patient outcomes, monitoring supplies and charges. Assumes charge responsibility following orientation as requested. Identifies opportunities for professional growth and pursues ongoing development through continuing education and self-study. Prioritizes activities to meet patient needs effectively. Performs additional duties as requested.
