Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive post-anesthesia care in the PACU, including initial assessment, stabilization, and ongoing monitoring of recovery patients.
• Manage critical-care PACU tasks such as arterial lines, titration of drips, continuous cardiac monitoring, oxygen delivery, and hemodynamic support as patient needs dictate.
• Document all nursing care and patient status promptly and accurately in the electronic health record (Epic) in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with anesthesia, surgical teams, and unit staff to optimize patient flow, disposition from PACU, and safe handoffs to next care areas.
• Float to related PACU areas as needed; participate in weekend and call coverage per schedule.

Requirements

• Active VermontRN license (or eligible for licensure in Vermont)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience; at least 2 years of PACU experience
• Strong critical-care PACU skills, including arterial lines, multiple titrating drips, and cardiac monitoring
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years
• Must be able to start within 1 week of offer; ability to work rotating day/evening shifts, weekends, and on-call as required
